R v. S.D. After a weeklong murder prelim the client was discharged on murder and committed on manslaughter.

R.v. GD Charges: 2nd Degree Murder. GD was charged 2nd degree murder in the death of a two-year-old child, whom he had been babysitting when the death occurred. R v. TS Charges: 2nd Degree Murder.  The victim was shot and killed.  Mr. Leslie argued that there was no intent to commit murder.  Result: charges reduced to Manslaughter. 

R.v. TL Charges: 2nd Degree Murder. TL was charged with 2nd degree murder in the death of his infant son.  After a 6 week trial TL was found not guilty of 2nd degree murder.  Mr. Leslie successfully argued that there was a reasonable doubt as to who committed the crime.  Result:  Charges reduced to Aggravated Assault.  Links to the media can be found here:  http://www.thespec.com/news-story/2276549-terry-legacy-not-guilty-of-infant-son-s-murder/

R.v. RS Charges: 1st Degree Murder.  RS was accused of stabbing a taxi driver.  During a 5 week trial, Mr. Leslie successfully argued that it was a case of mistaken identity. R. v. DL Charges: 1st Degree Murder.  Mr. Leslie successfully argued that DL was not a participant to the murder and was not aware of the other accused’s intent.  Result: charges were dismissed. 

R. v. JM Charges: 2nd Degree Murder.  Mr. Leslie successfully argued self defence.  Result:  charges were dismissed. 

R v. BL Charges: 2nd Degree Murder.  BL was charged with a stabbing at a party. Mr. Leslie argued that the Crown could not prove beyond a reasonable doubt that it was BL who committed the crime.  Result:  charges were dismissed. 

R. v. JW Charges: Attempted Murder.  After stabbing a man repeatedly Mr. Leslie argued that there was no intent to commit murder.  Result: Charges were reduced to Aggravated Assault.
